How much is a motor mount supposed to compress?

This one looks compressed more than I would have thought. It's even torn at the top, but that may have been due to manhandling the engine during install. This motor mount is the only one currently on the rear of the engine and the engine weighs about 150 lbs more than the one this motor mount was supposed to handle. However, there is another motor mount on the rear that I have not fabricated yet, which will share the weight when I am done. Either way, I think even when the other one is done, this one is too soft. What do you think?

Looks for some poly solid mount.
Mine was semi torn, so i had bought a poly mount, and installed it.
I had it pressed in and felt alittle difference.

I would PM Gregtrd for a solution to using that mount without having to resort to polyurethane.

Why do you say that? I like the Poly solution. I think it would be hard to find a different solution to this motor mount problem because this is part of a 1mzfe swap into my 1988 Corolla GTS. This is a Corolla mount that fits on the Solara transmission and in the stock location on the Corolla. There is no motor mount in this location on the Solara, so I doubt there is a Solara-style solution to the problem.

I'm not against the poly swap, it's just that they aren't readily available (unless you are versed in molding your own). A few members here have done custom ones for sale. I only mention the method Greg has used since a.)I have it done to my personal vehicle, and b.) It's not vehicle-specific. If it uses the same mount as my Solara, then it would work for your swap as well.
