Is battery brand important?

Is battery brand important?

Postby robbievelasco » Tue Nov 02, 2010 8:18 am

Hi everyone,

I need to purchase a new battery for my 99 Solara SLE and was wondering how important it is to buy a battery from a well known manufacturer. I see batteries at Sears and Autozone ranging from $99 up to $200 but I also saw this at Sears:

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1260 ... ockType=L2 and it's only $49.

Would it hurt my car if I purchased that battery? Also what batteries would you recommend?

Thanks and have a great day!!!

i would just get a duralast battery from autozone.
you can spend either $84.99 for the regular one or $94.99 for the "gold" battery.
im no battery expert, but i personally would stay away from the "value" batteries that are much cheaper.

I second the Costco battery one of the best warranties and it's made by Johnson Controls.
