Hey guys, just introducing myself.

My name is Ryan. I was recommended to this forum by one of your moderators who happens to be an active user on a Nissan forum I frequent.

My buddy has a 1999 Solara that he recently seized the V6 in. He bought another, fresher V6 and trans. I was thinking about doing the swap for him but have only swapped Civics, Integras, a Cutlass and Mopar products. I am curious as to how difficult this swap would be and if the motor has to come out through the bottom of the car.

All knowledge would help. Thanks. :o

2 ways to do it. Drop the subframe with everything attached, OR take off the hood and pull it up with a hoist. If you go that route (best way, espetially if no lift), take out the axle's, unhook the harness from the pass dash and pull through the firewall, unbolt the AC Condensor from the block and tie it away from engine, and unscrew the 5 engine/tranny mounts. Thats the basic's. If you've done other cars, I don;t think you'll have any issues with it. You seem liek you know your stuff. :)

Awesome. That is exactly what I was looking for. I will definitely pull it through the top with a cherry picker. I am not excited about doing it in the cold though.
