Hello,

I have been looking over this forum for awhile now and just now registered. I love the site. It has helped me quite a few times.

I know this has been discussed before but didn't find the answer on how to remove the spoiler on an 02 solara. I have removed the lining from inside the truck but I have no access to the spoiler from there.

The reason being, is that one of the studs has broke and I would like to take the spoiler off so I can try and repair it.

Thank you

The stud that holds the spoiler to the trunk?

I would assume that makes it easier to take the spoiler off :-?

I assume so. The right side is not held on so the spoiler is lifted off of the trunk slightly. I can pull up on it and see a hole in the trunk. Since I can't get to the spoiler from inside the trunk Im really not sure how the spoiler is held on.

I assumed it was a couple of bolts/nuts to hold it down.

If you've pulled off the trunk lid lining, you should see four (in your case three) bolts, I believe, under the spoiler.

Yes, there are bolts that hold it on and it slides off of the studs.
Trust me, I'm a technician.

They're not plainly visible, you have to look through the frame of the lid but they are there. I believe I had to use an extension and a 12mm socket for them, but don't quote me on the size.

Alright. Thanks to you guys I was able to remove the spoiler.

I found that one of the rivets that the spoiler slides onto was gone which is why it was lifted on one side.

This is probably a dumb question, but does anyone know where I could get a replacement? I wnet to Toyota but they want to charge me for a new spoiler which doesn't make sense.

Yeah, I have no idea where to get those unless Reggie can hook you up. Mine are f'ed up too BTW, it's probably common. The spoiler was a pain to fit back on correctly but it looks good and feel solid. Maybe you should just try harder.
