Broken Shifer Cable-Auto

Postby RandyJ75 » Tue Oct 06, 2009 1:37 pm

Hello everyone. I just broke the shifter cable on my 2000 Solara 4 cylinder/auto. How hard is it to replace? I can get the car in and out of gear by using the lever in the trans, but it is a pain to do every time. It will go back into park, so it pushes the cable that way, but pulling it back into gear , there is nothing. any ideas on how to fix this? Do I need a new cable? I don't have the money to take it to the dealer (no job), so any help would be great.

Thanks, Randy

BTW, I did try to search for an answer, but no luck.

check part numbers first... 4cyl and v6 may have different auto shift cables since they use different transmissions.
