Rear Brakes & Alternator Questions

Postby kaarona1 » Tue Sep 01, 2009 6:42 am

Hi guys - I just replaced my rear brakes and rotors and I still get this rubbing sound when I first start driving my car in the morning. It goes away after a few minutes but is back every morning. It sounds like the back brakes are rubbing at a specific area of the rotor. Could it be the parking brake? Is it seperate?

Also, my alternator is making a grinding sound when I start the car. It is stock. Any suggestions... Time to replacE?

Thanks in advance

parking brake could be out of adjustment. I haven't done my rear brakes, but that would be the first place i'd look.

As you sure its the alternator and not the starter making the noise?

How do you adjust the parking break?

I think the noise if from the alternator, but I will double check. Car starts fine.

Does anyone have a service manual that they could scan/email the pages that show how to adjust the parking brake? It is a drum in disk type parking brake I guess on the rear rotors
