Driver Side Carpet is WET! WHY WHY WHY?!

Driver Side Carpet is WET! WHY WHY WHY?!

Alright, so i clean my car every weekend... The works... 3 hour job at least, and while i was removing the floor mats i noticed that there a wet spot directly in front of the driver seat... The entire area right there was wet... Not soaked by any means, but if i press my fist down, and push forward, i can make a tiny puddle lol. Now i swear i found a thread on this when i first joined here saying it was something to do w/ the AC. 2 weeks ago, i took out the mats to have them shampoo'd, and didn't notice any dampness. Since then I've used the AC quite a bit more (Temps exceeding 108 in the past week - and i live in Portland Oregon of all places LOL) So im curious if it has to do w/ the AC? Or what else it could be? I know i haven't spilled anything. And when i smelled it, it's clearly just water... Anyone else have this problem? All responses are much appreciated!

It's your AC. The evaporator is in the center of the dash. So either your drainage line is clogged or leaking, or your evaporator is leaking. If the AC is still blowing cold, then your core is probably fine. Check the drain line and make sure it is clean and connected properly. Just remove the panel on the left side of the passenger footwell. If the floor isn't oily, then the mess is just water and you can fix it in a jiff. Good luck.
Trust me, I'm a technician.

X2

I had the same problem a few weeks ago. Water all over the driver side. I noticed that my car was'nt pooling water on the ground while I was running the ac.

Long story short I made a drain snake out of trimmer line and uncloger the hose that drains to evap to the out side of the car.

I would make sure your car is draing forst it is the easiest thing to do. If no water comes out it's clogged

The hose is about 1/4" and it is beside the cat toward the pass side.
