Need 5SFE engine

Need 5SFE engine

Postby greeensolara » Thu Jul 30, 2009 5:00 pm

About a week ago my oil pump bursted in the motor and it damaged most of the pistons and enternal housing, the head is gone... lets just say i need a new engine.... the mechanic and i agreed on swapping it to a 1MZ but he wont do it for liability issues... so he was scooping for some used engines and found out that the 1MZ cost less than the 5SFE, by half! for a 40K 5SFE motor the asking price is $900. Im wondering if anyone knows of anything cheaper around the same mileage. My car is in Corona, CA so anything within 50 miles from 92882.

Any info would be helpful. Im looking for an engine around $600. Thanks in advance.

if you went the 1mz route, u'd have to get a diff transmission too right?

why not just go to trdgreg and get a manual swap and a 1mz dropped in, might as well since ur having a new engine put in anyway.

but then again, everything depends on the budget.
