i run royal purple max atf and have since increasing to 5.5 psi
i change it every 4k miles cause of my extremely abusive driving habits
it never ever looks or smells broken down, so I can only assume its good. My trans shifted hard when it was running anyway cause of the solid rear motor mount.

running RP atf in my gen 1 since i had the tranny replaced about 8k miles ago.

1mz NA with minor bolt-ons

she runs good, smooth shifts, no power surging between gears, no hunting for gears when doing moderate driving through hills.

now, since i had to replace my previous tranny (at something like 130k miles), i don't know if it's a huge improvement, a slight improvement, or the same as the dexmerc that was in there previously....but so far i have not had any complaints about the RP atf.

....and i'm not sure.....but don't the auto trannys hold something like 10+ quarts of atf? i had my mechanic do my tranny work, so i don't know for certain how much fluid it holds.

There's friends with the RX300 who run the RP, Redline and like myself, the Amsoil ATF, and I don't know anyone of them that has had an issue yet with our trannies. We even have a few running M1 ATF and no issues thus far.
