X2 I still say go for it. I didn't realize that it was kitted either. That's a plus.

One of the reasons Im holding back is its a V6. I do deliveries, and all local roads. A V6 engine is gonna kill me on gas, espically when I do about 80 miles some days on local roads. I average anywhere from 280-350 miles a week (all local).

i'd say before you set your heart on it, go check it out first. you can't go with a mindset that this is the car you definitely want, or else you may get swayed into buying something that ain't worth it, or overlook some major problems.

sounds good though. gl.

That's definitely true. The car I am stuck with now has so many problems that I overlooked that I dont know what I was thinking when I bought the car. I just WANTED IT RIGHT AWAY. Now I am taking my time while my POS car is taking its last breath.

I am considering taking it to a mechanic to have it checked out. It might cost me $60 to have it inspected, but it will be worth it before I put down 3gs.

I just wanted to thank everybody for such a fast reply and such great feedback. I posted this on another forum and got only 1 response. This is a great community and I will definitely keep posting here if I purchase the car.
Excellent advice keep up the good work guys!

bank1sensor one is before the cat...i believe, right behind the engine you can reach it.

I just sold my 99 w/ 135ish, i would say it was more taken care of then that one, but you have a kit on this one (around 500+/- used) and I would replace those snow tires or get a different set of wheels to sub out in your snow.

Also, the difference between the v6 and i4 solaras really isnt anything to care about with gas mileage, they get about the same, i could constantly pull ~30mpg on the highway with my v6.

miss it http://img186.imageshack.us/img186/8010/ace001dg5.jpg

Idk, it seems like a good deal, if the ebay thing dosent work out offer 2.5k...

pretty cool, it has the TRD lip kit as well....

U can get a new rightside fender and a new hood (Might as well go with a CF hood).

With some TLC, that car will be a beauty, and fun as hell to drive.

GL!

That car sounds like a good deal. Assuming it is not butt-ugly and all dented and dirty and smelly inside. And assuming the title is clear.

1 - get the car fax
2 - test drive the car for about 75 miles to make sure that no check engine lights (CELs) pop up.....seller can turn off a CEL by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. if the car has a recurrent problem (like a blown oxygen sensor), then the CEL will turn back on automatically after about 75 miles of driving.
3 - if everything checks out, $3000 for 117k miles isn't bad. even though it's a 99, it should be durable upto 200k or 300k miles (if taken care of). but once again, get the carfax first.

^ gotta love Chinky's lists. I don't know how you'd convince someone to let you test drive a car for 75 miles though!
