Screeching noise when making hard left/right turn

Screeching noise when making hard left/right turn

Postby __KINGPIN__ » Sun Jul 12, 2009 2:44 pm

i have a gen 1 solara and when i turn the wheel fully to the left or the right, it makes a screeching noise. i think its coming from the breaks? im not fully sure

it only happens when i accelerate forward. doesnt happen in reverse

is it because of new breakpads? (dealer put them in a few days ago) :drinking:

Yup. New brake pads will do that. Give them some time to wear in.

the thing is that the same noise occurred when i test drove the car with old break pads.

can it be something else other than the break pads?

Check power steering level. Other than that, your front end might be out of alignment.

Lol my neon did that exact same noise right before the power steering pulley fell apart. well... not fell apart, but after doing that for a month or so, it finally threw the belt all together. After further examination, looks like the pulley had become loose.... ended up needing a new power steering pulley and pump.
