Auto transmission guys....

I parked it for the winter and when I went to pull it out for spring. She wouldn't go into reverse or lockup in o/d. It always kinda acted funny when you would push the o/d button. Never thought that much of it because I have only put 3-4k on it last year.
I had Toyota look at it and their conclusion was that there was too much metal shavings in the trans fluid for the direct clutch lockup sensor to engage. (?) When I dropped the pan it was pretty brown. Although I did put some Seafoam in two days prior. The magnets had about 1/4 to a 1/2 inch of thick sludge on them. I cleaned everything including the strainer. I have since did two more drain and fills since with no difference.
I have a spare trans and am going to swap that in just to check and see if it works. I feel that it's a wiring issue. I have never seem so many scotch locks in my life. I found several wires just hanging.
The trans has a upgraded valve body, lsd, B&M torque converter (must be custom, because one is not listed by them) and were total rebuilds.
We'll see how it goes....for this weekend..... my daily 4Runner has a HG leaking.
