So I have the following CEL codes, and I know it has something to do with the EGR system based on the codes I got.

So over the weekend, I used throttle body cleaner hoping this would make codes would go away, but unfortunately they are still there. Is there anything else I can do before actually replacing the EGR valve since they are so expensive?

here are my codes:
P0401
P0402
P1411

Did some googling, and most point to either the egr sensor and/or the egr vsv that is faulty.

Autozone has the sensor for only $45, and should be an easy DYI. However, I couldn't find the VSV part, and not exactly sure where it is located.

Anyone know how much this part costs, and if it's an easy job?

I have a copy of the service manual, and it looks like it's under the black engine cover, however from doing some googling, it's actually under the engine? Can anyone confirm?

I just replaced the egr sensor, but I lost the socket to remove the nut from the negative terminal lol.

How long should it take for the CEL to go off if I don't reset it manually?

Just a quick update for you guys.

I replace the EGR position sensor with one I bought from autozone, and after disconnecting the negative terminal, it has been CEL-free for over a week now. Took it to inspection last Friday and passed :)

It's amazing how just one part can cause 3 codes, but I'm happy this is finally resolved.
