I definitely will! I hope to pick her up tonight and get a few pictures. Its going to be raining here all weekend so I don't think I'll be able to do much. The interior needs a major cleaning, so I may be able to get to that. I'm trying to decide when I want to get it repainted since I don't think I'll be able to wax for like 60 days, and I love detailing! But then again, I don't think I want to wait too long either so the shop changes their minds.

I've decided to put off the work the mechanic came up with minus having fluids flushed, nothing seemed major. It seems like the v6s always have the valve cover & power steering leaks, and since the owner never had to add in any fluid to either, I'm probably fine for a little bit.

I'm so excited! The bank was playing games with me this morning and can only give me a loan for exactly the amount. They had promised $6500 but they quoted me for a convertible, not a coupe, for some reason. I nearly called up the owner and keep my car, but the decision came to driving the Subaru another two years, or buying this Solara and driving it for two years. Guess which won? :P I'm not that pleased with Subaru, and these Solaras are amazing cars. I'm sure she'll last me several more years, and then someone else even longer. I can't say that about my Subaru. Almost the same mileage and mine is slowly falling apart, rust and engine-wise. But still, I'm scared!

It was inevitable that you would have buyers remorse. It's hard to drop $5,000+ and not second guess yourself. Just don't let the anxiety get in the way of your enjoyment of your new whip! You did the research, you comparison shopped, and you bought yourself a Toyota. If you have any issues with the car from here out, you have a large group of Solaraguys who would love to help you. Sit back, take a deep breath, and exhale. It's all good in the hood.

thanks alot for the support, it means alot to me! any big purchase decision is kinda nerve wracking. people have beennot very kind to me when i began the search. i did the number crunching, research and soul searching. i believe i made a solid decision! think i need to try harder to drown out the nay-sayers.

i'll be sure and post my questions! here's one for ya, is it easy to replace the rear sway bar bushings yourself or is it a mechanic's job? and where's a good cheap place to buy the upgraded ones?

This will be a good job to gain a frame of reference for your own mechanical aptitude. It is definitely a good job for a novice and if you mess it up, you can still drive your car to a mechanic to have it corrected. If you can't do this job, you'll know that you probably have no business working on your car's mechanicals! :D

hehehe I love your comment! I'm formally banned on working on car mechanics after I tried replacing the windshield washer reservoir in my Celica. I did the task and it worked fine; however, er, I wound up with a handful of screws after everything was put back together. The screws I think stemmed mostly from the body since I had to loosen a bunch of stuff to get to the reservoir. I'm actually going to have my mechanically gifted boyfriend do the work for me. He thinks it should be easy, and I'll just have to figure out where to buy the parts.
