i just bought a pair of clear corners off ebay and they dont really match my blacked out headlights.

i cant seem to find anyone selling a pair of blacked out corners so im thinking about smoking my clear ones with maybe the vans jdm smoke spray paint.

anyone ever try this? how did it turn out? i might just go ahead and try it to see how it looks. ill post before and after pics for anyone whos interested in doing the same.

I've used the paint on fogs and tails in the past. It looked pretty decent but flaked off over the years. I probably could have applied it better for a more lasting finish, but I'll probably stick with laminate in the future. Plus, it can be easily removed.

rough up the surface with some sand paper so the paint will have something to stick to.

The finish was always nice and transparent black, so as long as you prep and sand in between coats it should last.

I've been thinking about doing the paint route to my headlights, but I was wondering if it will make my headlights less bright? And, where can you find out if it is legal or not in your state?

^^^^ Do you mean paint route as in paint over top of your headlight (not the housing). Most definetely you will have less light output. Im in Southern Maryland and my friend has those black plastic covers you can put over your headlights for his mustang gt. no problems on legality yet. BTW if this is what you are talking about im sure almost everyone on this board will tell you not to do it.

The clear reflector ones I have only seen sold as a set with the headlights as well. Keep checking ebay periodically.
