Electric Seat Motor Noise

Electric Seat Motor Noise

Postby PlayaDelReyDave » Thu Apr 02, 2009 1:27 pm

Hi, I asked about this a year ago and no one seemed to have an answer so I thought I'd try again a year later. :)

When I move the seat back and forth on the driver's side, the motor makes a really irritating noise. When I move it up and down there is no noise.

So, to reiterate, the electric seat motor works properly, but it just makes an irritating noise when I move the seat forwards and backwards, the back part of the seat that is. When I move it up and down there's no noise.

Does anyone know how this can be fixed? Can the motor be lubricated somehow, and has anyone else experienced this noise?

Thanks.

David

Mine is more of a steady noise, like an electrical piece of equipment, if that makes sense...

I see. Maybe the brushes in the motor are going bad? Perhaps you should check into getting a new motor soon. Mine did that before it started making the noise it does now.
