No not the wheel hop bro it was Engine lagged, as you stated up there, due to the gear changin too fast it messed up and make the car Hoppin, the 1st time it was bad untill ive talked to the mech guy, it wont happen if i wait to gear 3 and press harder, My Solara99 is SLEv6 fully loaded, the car was fast like Supercharged Engine, i scared out Ford-Mustang, Acura-Integra, Honda Civic-si, Tied = to a Lexus 4D sport-sedan, i didnt pay attention what model was it. But that Luxus was crazy than my Solara.

Honestly i wasnt sure what was up to the Solara, the Engine say "Camry 24Vales V6" nothing is different to Camry Engine year 92-96 and what ive seen by drivin the 99-01 Solara, it faster than most of Sport-Coupe car and it can be compared to some of 5spd sport-coupe for drag-race. Seriouly in downtown Toronto whenever i wanna pass someone or pass a TTC-Bus, Lady-Gentlement, i fell the Power of Speed right away, as you all know downtown TORONTO it isnt eazy to drive cause bunch of peoples very small path lotta parked-car and peoples jumpin passin in the way, i used to had fun with Taxi/TTC and some of young men with their sporty cute car untill i got merried

The point of saying this cause i think Solara can compete with BMW, Acura RSX, Infiniti G35, Luxus, Accord 2D coupe XLE v6 and the new Nissan Altima 2d coupe v6. I drove many kind of car sport/sedan this is what ive seen by Speedy comparing, im not comparin with the Luxury/Quality or beauty of the car, im tryin to compare the speed.

Lemme name out some of lady sport car like Toyota-Celica, Misubishi Eclipse, Huyndai-Tiburon, Civic-si, maybe to some of you these car are great but to me these cars are weak, yes ive been tested with them, my friend driving a 2004 Celica 5speed, other lady-friend has a Mit-Eclipse v6 2002, a workmate has a Civic-si v-tech, and the Huyndai-Tiburon got burmed by me in High-way (Freeway) hmm the Celica and the Civic seem to be ok but the Tiburon and Eclipse seem like breakin the engine with the noise. I think Eclipse without Turbo = nothin. Its good in USA but not Canada.

Alrite what did i mean i burned out that Tiburon was...here the story.

That summer day was a nice day no wind very nice weather and cleared, i drove my brother inlaw my sister and my wife, so that were 4 persons includin me, we were on high-way with 90k/mph maxed, thats Gardener/DonValley in Ontario, that idiot Tiburon popped up from behind with his fully suit-up car very nice Tiburon mods, my Solara was normal and all Original no mod nothin, 1st of all he cuts off and tried to brakin infront, i was like wat da F is this guy doin, my wife/sister calmed me down and told me just lets it go who cares blah blah, then he pulled back beside me, in highway i couldnt hear what he said but then i figured out he wanted to test somethin, i told sis/bro/wife to Seat-belt and this Tiburon guy wanna to test his new speed somethin like that, i told him OK in action and then we started, his car only 2 persons look like his girlfriend beside him, my car 4 persons mean= slower a bit, seriouly he cant pass me and the noise of his car was like breakin down, we raced about 2/3km and after that i let him pass n i slowed down cause the BI-t-chin of my Wife and my sister, that time we almost reach Don-Valley anyways so i slowed my car, then we merged to Don-valley parkway, and my brother was like, wtf somethin smokin up ahead, i slower more and get close to look, guess what ? it was the Tiburon guy just raced with us, we didnt know what happened to his car, his car smoked in the front of hood near engine parts.

My 99 Solara been in many Winters with Heavy snowtorm, big rain/wind, race and floorin, ofcourse i drive everyday with this car, i drive almost like taxi, untill then my friends says, dam your car still good and strong and it has 200k/m on it, i changed Timing-belt/Water-pump at 130k/m, because of the Hip-Hop dance, i bought a Solara 2001 and gave Solara 99 to my sister. i dont know why its like that to lara99, my Lara2001 was fine smoother than 99lara, when it hit gear 3 and i press deeply the gas oh my god, scared out of myself too man, gear1 = 15km, gear2= 25km, gear 3=40km and it jumped to around 70km in 1/2 seconds, hehe yes in downtown Toronto with this speed can suspend your license, take your car away.

a) why are you racing around if you are having drivability problems?
b) why are you 'racing' in your story with passengers in the car? moreover, with passengers who aren't down with being in a 'street race'
c) some of those cars you mentioned would smoke our NA lara: i.e. civic si, g35, most BMW's (at least any of the 6cyl lineup)... the suv/crossovers you mentioned aren't bought necessarily for their performance prowess. cars that you named that are about even with ours (depending on driver and mods) would be the eclipse, the mustang, the tiburon (tho stock for stock, i think the lara can take it), and most acura's.
d) try not to get your license revoked man. that's never fun.

hope you got your drivability problemos fixed. from the sounds of it, i'd take it to a transmission shop to have them look at the way it shifts and how well the tranny is working. if you're driving a SLE then it should be an auto tranny, and depending on the amount of miles you got, it may be about time to start replacing parts.
