Ouch, well at least it's not something severe like a cracked block.
If everything is fine except for those rings I suggest a rebuild. Something about junkyard motors (especially aluminum blocks) that I can't fully trust...sitting there for who knows how long and not running, something's probably seized, even worse if the car was in a front end collision.
If anything, at least with a worn ring you can drive normally for a while without too severe consequences. Better a worn ring than say a worn valvespring or related...
