Brake light on :(

Brake light on :(

Postby chrom3titan » Fri Oct 10, 2008 4:10 am

Well I have a brake light in my dash that turned on a couple of weeks back. It comes on usually when I'm doing around 30-50 and stays on for a couple of minutes then turns off. Its completely random. Now is it my e brake or my disk brakes? Thanks!!!!

ps my damn 6,000k lo's lol. One of the lights turned from blue to PURPLE. Luckily I had a spare and took care of that tonight as soon as it started to happen. Must be the chinese HID's.. So I'd say my HID's lasted about 11 months.

If you're ebrake is working properly then I suggest topping off your brake fluid and then plan on replacing your pads and resurfacing your rotors soon.

I too, am having the same problem.

The brake fluid is at the correct level and the e-brake functions like it should.

(K), how would the level of the pads cause the e-brake light to come on?

It has been coming on lately at initial startup.

Add a little more brake fluid. Toyotas are funny with brake fluid levels.

My sister had a Ford Contour that had this happen when she reached certain speeds. Turned out that there were Cherios wedged in between the e-brake so it wasnt' in the all the way down position
