What could this be?

So I come to my car this morning and it doesn't turn on. I jump start the car and as soon as I turned on the headlights the car shut off. I have an HID kit so I dont know if that has anything to do with the problem. When I jump started it the second time around I left the headlights off and interior lights on. The car stayed on but the interior lights would dim down and light up to its normal brightness. I'm guessing its the alternator but truly the dimming and turning on of the lights threw me off. Any similar experiences or anyone that knows what could possibly be wrong?

Also, check battery terminals to make sure they're tight.

If they are loose, you may get power to interior lights, but not headlights and it won't crank.

Turns out it was simply the battery which I got checked today and it was shot. I suppose the pulsing of the lights was simply the alternator trying to keep the current flowing. Thanks guys.

^^^^never mind, u already solved it. hah.

I had the same problem.

I was driving. and i turned on my headlights and the car died. i had to let it coast to the side and park it.

Check the battery, it may be time to change it.
