Tried to watch the install video but all I could get was a white screen.
Even from looking at the picture they show with the visor on the car it looks like you would have to roll your window down some to even open the door unless you installed it up far enough on the roof to clear. But that would make them luggage racks then. :-)

wont work...photo they use is a stock photo

what outer door frame, around the window?

and the instruction video was also generic

it comes down to this, for the install to work, the 3m tape is going to have to go on the pillar, but up high enough to clear the windows. if it's not high enough to clear the windows, then the window would clip the shade every time the door opened/shut. the rub is that putting it that high up is a) unsightly, and b) pretty pointless since the window and vent shade will not overlap at all

Man I wish I could put those on my Solara, but they would interfere with smoking.

being a smoker myself....i would say that they'd be useful if i could have the shade and the window pane overlap, so i could have my window cracked, but have the open space covered by the shade (as it is designed to do).

but since the only way this can work on our cars is if the bottom of the shade and the top of the window do not overlap at all, which in my opinion defeats the purpose of purchasing such a product in the first place.

actually with personal experience they worked great. They will clear the window. The way its designed the angle of the vent shade will not affect the door from closing and opening. You can have the window opened about 1" in rain without water getting in... If you want pics of them installed on my car just look on my car domain site.

I sold my solara to my sister and she still has them on the car. I personally liked the function and look it these.

I actually have the JDM ones for my xB. I dont think I can have a car without these now since I love to drive with my window down these help allot.

I had them at one point, they did the job. It was kind of difficult to put on because you have to be perfect in your positioning so you wouldn't clip it when you open your door. The tape eventually wore off one day when I was driving on the freeway :x I felt so stupid when the front half came off and was blowing back and forth.....
