Rear Suspension Clunking, need to confirm something

I just fixed mine and there is no bearings in the rear , i can go into detail about this if you want my cel phone number you can pm me , after what i been thru on this i can change the strut in 20 minutes . this pays 2 hrs in labor . i took mine apart 4 times and i know this like the back of my hand now. i think i can help to much to write pm me if u want my number

My muffler sometimes bounces up and hits the frame. I really need to replace the rubber mount...

Ive had the muffler deal before due to a modification I did and then had to undo.


Im almost 99% sure its got to be the center nut holding everything together that has come loose. Like I said Ive already checked the three bolts in the rear and there was no slack and they were tight. I checked the upper insulation by jacking the car up and the spring is relaxed completely allowing me to pull it down some and its not piercing through the upper insulation. The metal mount looked normal from what I could see and I cant see how it would get messed up if the upper insulation is fine. Well see and Ill take some pics when I pull it on Saturday.

Fixed it! When we put up the car on the lift we could push the rear drivers side tire up so we could clearly see something was loose on that side. We check all the other sides and they didn't push up like that one side did. We could wiggle the rear sway bar, because it was slightly loose. But we pull the strut out just to make sure that top bolt I thought was the problem was loose. It was fine. The mount and upper insulation was all good. It ended being that the sway bar link had come loose and when it was getting pushed up over bumps it would knock. Its amazing how something that simple could create all that noise. The noise is gone now!

glad you got rid of the terrible noise. im having the same problem..i just replaced the sway bar links in the rear but that dam clunking didnt go away..i have the tokico/eibach setup

How many miles on the struts?

I have a similar problem. I had my rsb installed about a month ago..Immediately after the install my rear suspensions started to squeak every time i went over a small bumps, especialy backing out of my driveway. I remeber looking at another post where someone had the same problem. I couldnt find it so this is the next best spot to do it. If anyone knows a fix.. probably more lube will be nececary...or if they can link me the other topic that would be great..thanks

lube-up the sway bar bushings and the squeak should go away. this is a very common problem for those who have the trd rsb.

I have same problem. i have new endlinks when i lowered the car, but i got my whole setup tein/tokico from CamryonBronze, no idea how many miles on his setup. i have since put about 10k on his setup he sent me.

Did you guys reuse the lock nut that was holding your old stuff together? You should replace those after they have been used once.
