Fuel Induction Service on S/C'd Solara?

Postby scdsolara619 » Thu May 22, 2008 7:26 am

Hi,

I've searched without any success, but wondering about performing an induction service on my SC'd Solara, but before I do it, I wanted to ask you guys. I remember reading something on this forum a couple of years ago, not to do it because it would destroy a "protective film" on the inside of the S/C. To me it didn't sound right but better be safe than sorry. I've got 88K miles on it and even with 91 octane fuel it pings most of the times. Thanks for any info.

the fuel induction service should be perfectly fine

the fuel has nothing to do with the s/c

what they do for the service is disable your fuel pump and then take that banjo bolt off and attach it to a machine that will send high pressure fuel additives through your injectors to burn

it makes no difference if your car is FI or not, because all this is done with the car in idle usually, so you are not in boost
