Engine treatments?

Engine treatments?

Postby mazen222 » Sat Dec 01, 2007 4:19 pm

I was thinking of injecting some of these into my gas tank to clean up the inside...

What do you guys think of these products? From the advertizment, they say you get better gas milage, will clean gasoline fuel injectors, intake valves and combustion chambers...

Sounds good to me, but will they "hurt" my engine? (99 manual V6)

here's an example of what im talking about

Probably only thing you can ever add to your engine, in my opinion, that will actually HELP it would be Seafoam.

Any of that other crap doesn't do anything helpful.

And your link doesn't lead anywhere for me.

Seafoam is good stuff. Most of the stuff you put strait into the fuel tank is junk. It won't generally hurt anything, but most of the claims are overblown. Some professionally done services are good. It's really hit and miss. Do some research into what they are cleaning and the delivery method. That will tell you alot about the effectiveness of a treatment. Also, none of the products should actually "increase" fuel mileage; they are designed to return things to a like new condition.
Let's just pretend I didn't grow up, or you're going to be terribly disappointed.

Get a bottle of concentrated Techron and put it into your fuel tank. It works.
