when i press the lock button car locks.. then unlocks a split second later....i have to lock from the inside manually :evil: ... any tips? :oops:

(thinking of just buying a whole new alarm system w/o remote start) 8)

The lock button from the inside? It's programmed to not lock if the key is in the ignition... Sounds like the sensor is starting to hesitate. As far as the remote [if applicable], hard to say.

could be a solenoid (sp?) issue...that was the issue on my car about 2 years ago, doors would only lock halfway

Make sure your key isn't in the ignition (doors won't lock if it is)

The security system may have gotten confused. Try reprogramming the door locks so they'll automatically lock when you put the car in gear, unlock when you put the lever in 'park' or something other than the way you currently have them programmed. Once that's done reprogram back to whatever mode you prefer.

my passenger side door did that a few weeks/months back. I think it might be the actuator/solenoid thingy issue. now for some reason it just went away it works when I lock from inside with the power lock button by the side of the door..

yes exactlly my prob^^^^ it startted than went away..Now its back.

As i walk away(keys in my hand) and press LOCK.

it will lock then asplit second later... UNlock :o

so i have to come back to my car and Manually Flip the lock on both doors :evil:

its an annoying hassle. any local socal place i can take it? that wont chage an arm and a leg????

Maybe your car is trying to tell you that you forgot something? :D

The directions should be in your manual. Could be different for Gen1, so my directions might not work for you.
