Suspension Problems
So my car has been shaking everytime I put on the breaks at higher speeds, or really lay on them. I figured it was rotors and what not with the brakes. I bought new pads, and rotors, and was about to install them when I noticed a large amount of oil around the front drivers side strut!
I had seen oil here before, and wiped it off, hoping that it was just some small blow-back, or maybe a spill from somewhere else! But the amount and the location told me I had a serious problem at hand!
I called arround to see if I can get it replaced, and I was told that I would need to replace both struts at the same time, they would probably need it anyways. So I got a price quote from $600 to $502.60 Using KYB struts.
So thats what I went with, it seems to be working great now, no more shakes when I stop. When they pulled the old struts out the drivers side one would not move at all without great force. and it stayed compressed. the other strut would compress, but move VERY VERY VERY slowly. slower than the new struts would move. I was told the one had all it's fluid leaked out, and as much as it could the other strut was holding the weigth of the car. They both certainly needed replacement!
So now I've got a spare set of rotors,a nd pads for my brakes when I need them. I might replace them later on.
