DEFINITELY call the manager there. Tell them what happened - make sure you tell them they need to pay for the repairs and towing the car since you are not looking to drive it anymore(to prevent anymore damage). ALSO- talk to taht retainer just in case - because if they play games- the minute you can get an attorney to call(I know from experience since my friend is an attorner) there will be something done- attorney calling ='s bad news for whoever's at fault.. EZ-lube may have screwed you, but it was your choice to go there as the solution to your problem.

In the sexist world of mechanics, next time bring ANY man... Your boyfriend, father, Milt, or a guy with an attitude and a 4' copper pipe in his hand that's damned handsome when it's all said and done (me ).

Seriously though, personally I always go in there and get what I need done (but then again I personally did all 3 of my last oil changes), then if they tell me I need something done, I evaluate it, consider all evidence and if it's legit, THEN I'll bring it back or do it myself. If not, I'll go over the next day and laugh it off.

At least they are willing to have your car fixed. I would insist that they let you take it to a dealership just so you know a trusted shop is fixing it. I had a problem like this with Midas with my old car. They insisted on fixing it and took it in three times to get it taken care of. I only got half of my money back and they really didn't fix it completely.

well. tomorrow i'm having my supervisor talk to them for me. i really dont want to take it to their mechanic. so we'll see how that turns out.

so. the plan is:
get the car towed to a toyota dealership and have them do a diagnostic.

then get the car towed back to FU-Lube.

i want my bases covered. so yeah. anyone know of an easier way to get the car towed without having it literally towed twice?

maybe you can ask EZ lube to arrange you a tow truck that will tow your car to dealer get diagnosis and tow it back to the shop? so you dont have to worry about the towing

Take it to a Toyota dealer, get a complimentary loaner car, have Toyota send an estimate to Ez and have Toyota do the work. End of story.

^ I agree. Because then maybe they will just let them do the work because they would have to pay towing again to take it to another shop. Then they might as well just have Toyota fix it.
