secondary O2 sensor question

secondary O2 sensor question

Postby sahuddleston » Mon Jul 09, 2007 1:40 pm

hey guys, when i took out my turbo kit i was without a stock exhaust so i had one made at a local shop. i have my OEM headers in, and my O2 sensor is installed as it should be. my CEL is still on due to the fact that i have no secondary O2 sensor. i have thought about buying an O2 sensor and having a bung welded into the pipe to fix the CEL, i am unsure where the sensor should be installed and if theres an easier way to shut off the CEL. any help is appreciated guys. thanks

That is the right way to do it. Have the bung installed and put the O2 sensor in. The car will run better.

I have a related question - my CEL came on recently and gave the O2 sensor code. I have heard that the O2 sensors are pretty straight forward to install yourself - like screwing it into the side of the exhaust pipe. Anyone have any advice or notes on doing this? I was going to grab a Chilton or Haynes manual and give it a shot. Thanks,
