car double lurched? no warning lights though

So here I was driving home from wherever, I was behind a line of cars and I was looking at the car behind me since it was following pretty close. I then proceeded to push the gas down a little further, now what happened next I am not sure, I could almost swear my car lurched twice instead of once.. but I didn't double tap the gas, strangely enough.. no warning lights or anything came on.. I popped the hood, no connections loose, fluids are filled, and nothing is leaking under the car.

Any idea guys?

Automatic right? Where you on the highway or on the street?

Could have been that you just stepped on the gas a little harder than you thought and it downshifted twice. Nothing too serious I suppose. Anything seem "odd" besides that lurch? Loss of power or slipping of any nature?

Auto correct.
I was local roads. speed limit is about 40 right about there. I was going about 35 at the time.

didn't feel any power loss. just was a little confused by the double lurch.

^ hrmm maybe man..
but I am just surprised no warning lights came on..

few months back in the winter when my negative battery cable clamp got loose and swung over and touched the positive (+) terminal, that caused my entire car's system to shake and flicker and casued my car to shudder and turn off..
it felt like that, only no funny smell, no light flicker, no power loss or failure..

it was just kinda weird..
