I just got my 90k mile maintenance done. I also replaced the water pump, timing belt, and did a "transmission maintenance all for about 1000$. Sound about right? i was gonna get some parts from reggie but they told me i couldnt have the warranty if i bought i own parts because they wouldnt really know how long i had the parts.

I also asked if they could do a flush and they said no. They said that they didnt have a transmission flush system and that it wasnt necessary anyway.
were they just bsing me? i swear ive read around here about a lot of guys doing it.

btw im at 96k miles... anything else i should get done?

i dont think they replaced the spark plugs so im gonnna probably do that next.

A tranny Flush is necessary, or atleast replacing the fluid.

even tho i just replaced my tranny fluid with full synthetic, im gonna go to a shop and have it flushed and filled agian after this semester, so maybe around winter time ill be doing that.

But i remember when we took my oil out, it was CRAP. and when i did this, the car was at 79k or so. SO id assume urs is pretty much done too, id get it serviced asap.

I know its gonna cost me a bit with my supercharger on right now, but i have somethings lined up for the people to do, as listed below:

Tranny Flush and fill (full synthetic)
Timing belt
New seals/gaskets for the engine
and a few other things i cant remember rite now.

o and while the s\c is off, ill change the oil of the S\C, Again...it was changed before the s\c was installed.

o and by the way, when was the last time u did ur coolant? i gotta do mine as well.

I replaced the sparks since I didnt have any paper work on it ever being done...bought the car at 75k and it was around 110 that I replaced them. Found out they were replaced with Denso's sometime, but was good cause I didnt know and it was pretty simple, took ~45mins.
http://www.solaraguy.org/viewtopic.php?t=10551

My timing belt was replaced at 65k, so i guess im due for one at ~165k.

A few thousand miles ago I did my own "transmission flush" which consisted of:

1. Empty Pan
2. Fill up of ~3.5 (ran for 2-300mi)
3. Empty Pan
4. Fill up of ~3.5 (ran for 2-300mi)
5. Empty Pan
6. Fill up of ~3.5

Out of curiosity which ATF does everyone use?
Im at ~116.

Hmm is it a big deal that i havent got a tranny flush yet? I mean i got it drained and refilled. Should that be good enough?
Im getting the close to 100k and i figured since this is the first time i probably had any maintenance done on it i should have it flushed but they said it wasnt really necessary. I looked through the owners manual (which i just happened to notice was for the Camry and not for the camry solara btw but i figured it should be the same) and it said nothing really about a transmission flush. If i can find somewhere that says by toyota that a tranny flush recommended, then maybe i can go back and tell them i was lied to, and get my money back and use that money elsewhere to get it done.

My dad used the car before I did. And he never really got maintenance done besides oil changes. He says thats that really needs to get done. But of course he never really kept cars for more than a year or two besides this one. So hes skipped the big time maintenance like at the 30k and 60k.

So now im having to play catch up. Anything else i should be looking into?

me, i had to do the tranny flush first. reason being that it had some serious debris (yes, debris... better check yours) in it, and my system would have lased only so long, but seriously, it depends. on what basis are they telling you that its not necessary/ if they have inspected it (at least different places) and you get the word that the fluids good, then u are ok, depending on the last flush it had.
if its never had a flush (apparently like mine) , then better add the dough and have it done.
also, why did they call it tranny maintenance, if they didnt do the friggin flush!!! don make sense
